Reflect on the exercise.
The four-tier approach of classifying the technology available/technology integration helped me to see all sides of the data. Working with my colleague helped me to see a different perspective, although we agreed on everything.

Prioritize the points you identified as well as match opportunities with strengths.
1. An opportunity to transform learning spaces is available due to the one-to-one laptop initiative in our school.
2. Student creativity should be maximized with the innate talents of the student body matched with the support for the one-to-one program.
3. Social networking tools can be used to maximize face to face meetings times by removing common announcements in face to face meetings and putting those announcements on a Twitter feed, an email list, and a web bulletin board.
4. Teachers can share integrated lessons in social networking arenas, allowing asynchronous interaction.

Briefly outline how your school might think about transforming weaknesses and/or threats.
A cultural shift from traditional schooling is far in the future. A short term solution would be to model appropriate behaviors of digital citizenship and allowing teachers autonomy in regards to teaching tools they use in their pedagogy. After reviewing the technology plan, there is a disconnect and almost misconception of TPCK -- it is a “wicked problem” with no one solution that requires teachers to be dynamic and flexible, yet the tech plan adheres to a more cookie cutter approach. At a policy-making level, the dialog is in its infancy. Time will tell.
